After more than seven years as a startup founder, I've worn a lot of 🧢
I’ve also encountered a cosmic level of unexpected problems, an experience I consider invaluable. By learning to handle the unforeseen with composure, I’ve become an agile, strategic decision-maker ready to tackle any challenge. I’ve worked through sleepless nights, managed teams of over 200, and, as much as I’ve witnessed success, I’ve also had the roof cave in—literally. During an event.
*This is a true story, but don’t worry—no one was injured; it was backstage, and event attendees remained unaware of the incident.
I've worked with the best
Most of these projects are from my life before startups, but that won’t stop me from sharing their logos to insinuate my skills are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
My Philosophy
Design Influences Action
Beyond aesthetics, design shapes the way we interact with products, spaces, and the world, motivating our decision-making and guiding everyday choices without us giving it a second thought. I aim to create experiences so natural they become instinct, by harnessing design’s transformative potential to unleash meaningful change.
All of these strengths under one roof
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but an argument in favor of the claim that I simply have no life.
A Little Bit About Me
Life Beyond the Keyboard
I grew up in a small town, and the majority of my friendships go back 20+ years. My love of logic puzzles transcends time and space. I’m also a giant Kurt Vonnegut fan (if you haven’t read Slaughterhouse Five, I highly recommend it) and love writing, with about 15 short stories under my belt.
☕️
I've never had a cup of coffee
According to a DNA test, my body would metabolize the caffeine rapidly to the point I wouldn't feel the effects anyway 🤷♂️.
⚽️
I played elite level soccer and other sports growing up
Half of the team didn't speak English, which made communication particularly unique.
🌏
I've been to 20+ countries in the past six years
The most tenuous stretch was 41 cities in 90 days. And never once did I lose my luggage.
👦
My first product design was at the age of 8
I designed custom-made wallets that my art teacher inspired me to sell. Thank you, Ms. Beckley.
🍁
I'm proudly Canadian
Have you ever had All Dressed chips? I will literally travel with them. Don't judge.
🤓
I love cartoons. Like a lot.
I could usually tell you the name of the episode within 10 seconds.
My designs have impacted nearly half a billion users across more than 200 countries
And yet no metric can ever match the level of satisfaction brought by seeing people positively experience my product designs in real life. Human-centered design will always be the heart of my process. I aim to create things that leave people with a :^) on their faces.
